Position: Program Manager

Reports to: The Board of Directors

Hours: Part time – 15 Hours per week – (3 hours per day)

Monday to Friday

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for community based activities, health promotion initiatives, building relationships, creating community awareness and coordinating and executing the overall operation of the Kids Lunch Club following direction of the Board of Directors.

  • You have an awesome personality, a genuine smile, a passion for delicious food and are a “jack of all trades”.
  • Through teaching and guidance, you help enable and inspire healthy eating habits, one meal at a time.
  • You ensure that every new ingredient and product fits with the mandated food values, guidelines, cost specifications and food safety standards.

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Volunteer recruitment, training, retention, and supervision; ensuring all rules, regulations and requirements are followed
  • Research, initiate, develop, maintain and enhance development and business relationships sourcing and procuring new products and ingredients
  • Prepare and co-ordinate deliveries
  • Clean the kitchen as per sanitation safety and standards after each use
  • Maintain and shopping for inventory (groceries and supplies)
  • Attendance at Fundraisers and other significant events
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Adhere to the Oath of Confidentiality
  • Help our community embrace real food and foster new healthy eating habits through innovative events and creative marketing ideas
  • Carry out other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Culinary skills, a passion for nutritious and delicious food
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Superior organizational skills and initiative
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • Valid driver license, insurance and vehicle
  • Computer Skills (word)
  • Experience working with volunteers in a management capacity
  • Able to balance a small petty cash account
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
